This smoky, toasted barbecue spice blend is a masterpiece. Made with coffee grounds from the nearby roast works at Toby's Estate, one sprinkling of this super flavorful rub will really wake up your Mouth. It's got hints of sweet brown sugar, the mellow heat of dark red chili powder, and a little tang from dried garlic and onion. These are spices you can taste and see. Greenpoint Trading Co.'s Kimmee and Evan started blending spices to complement their shared experiences, but with a more healthful approach in mind. All of their rubs are low in salt (look at the ingredients list: salt is #4!) . tip of the tongue Spread rub on chicken thighs, sturdy fish, steak and ribs. Barbecuing and smoking are ideal, but the rub is also great for baking or roasting. You could even shake some into freshly popped corn or a bag of your favorite crinkle-cut potato chips.
